Today the RCMP gave a Talk about Internet Safety and here are some of their tips:
1. Don't give out personal info about you or your family
2. Don't give out any kind of family financial info
3. Be aware: people may not be who they say they are
4. Never meet with someone you "met" online
5. Don't send pictures of yourself online
6. Talk with your parents about their expectations and rules for going online
7. Tell your parents immediately if you receive unwanted material online or are threatened or harassed
8. If it is too good to be true, it probably is
9. Be careful - don't tell online friends your personal problems

I hope everyone had a wonderful Winter Break! I know my family did. Unfortunately though, near the end we have all been very sick. That being said I will not be in tomorrow. If you could be please go over with your child how to behave when we have a guest teacher in our classroom I would greatly appreciate it.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Thank you so much to everyone who bought me a present! It was unexpected but greatly appreciated!  The cups and wine glass, the chocolates & homemade goodies (I think I will wait to start my healthy living kick until after  January 6th), the Tim's cards (which come in very handy when travelling 8 hours up north), the beautiful scarf,  the fuzzy slippers, the bathroom soap and lotion. Wow, I am truly blessed and really spoiled :) I hope the students liked their "reindeer or snowman" poop. When I saw that poem it made me laugh so hard that I knew I had to do that for our class.

If you have not already heard Mrs. Quast will be continuing to team teach with me in the new year. She will be teaching the students French, Social Studies and a math block!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Winter Break and I will see you on Monday, January 6th!
